Allah Ta’ala created the Jinn nation after creating the angels. Then he made the human race after the creation of the Jinn race. Allah created both human and Jinn nations only to worship Him. When the Jinn nation caused disasters and shed blood among themselves, Allah banished them and then created the first man; his name was Adam (A.). Whom Allah has chosen, and from him, He has made the human race.
So I will give you some information about him and the identity of humankind’s main enemy. And in this regard, I will mention some words of Allah that will clarify many essential things to you. So let’s first know the identity of Adam (A.).
Adam (A.) and his identity
Adam (A.) was a primal man made of clay, whom Allah Ta’ala created without parents. He then gave the soul to his body. Then He gives him all that he needs to have in a human being.
He was the first human being. There was no human existence before him. But before him, Allah Ta’ala created the Jinn nation. He made the Jinn from fire. In this regard, Allah Ta’ala said: “He created man from clay like pottery. And He created the Jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.” [Surah Ar-Rahman, verses 14 – 15]
He also said: “Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.” [Surah Ali ‘Imran, verse 59]
Adam (A.) and his dignity
Allah Ta’ala has given him many honors. He was the first prophet, the original father of all human beings; Allah Ta’ala created him with his own hands. The angels prostrated him before the command of Allah. He (Allah) has taught him the names of all things and nominated him as the best human. Adam (A) was the first caliph of Allah. Allah created Adam’s wife from his left rib. He has started the human pedigree from them. In this regard, Allah Ta’ala said: “O humankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women.” [Surah An-Nisa, verse 1]
Allah Ta’ala also said: “And (mention, O MuḼammad), when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a Caliph.” They said, “Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we exalt You with praise and declare Your perfection?” He (Allah) said, “Indeed, I know that which you do not know.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 30]
The main enemy of his and his children
The main enemy of Adam (A) and his children is Iblis, the chief of the evil Jinn. His real name was Azazel. He was the best in knowledge and worship. And he also was one of the jinns that the angels expelled. The angels took him captive to Allah. Then Allah appointed him as the head of the angels of the world.
When Allah made Adam’s body from clay, Iblis began to observe around him. Then when he saw that it was empty, he realized that it was a creation that would not be able to control himself. Then he said to himself, if I am given power over you, I will surely destroy you. And if you are given authority over me, I will indeed disobey you. [Al-Bidaya wan-Nihaya, page no 127-128]
What happened after that?
In this regard, Allah Ta’ala said: “And (mention, O MuḼammad), when your Lord said to the angels, ‘I will create a human from dry soil of altered black mud. So when I have fashioned him and had a spirit of My Own (creation) breathed into him, then they (the angels) fall in prostration to him.’ So the angels prostrated all together, except Iblis; he refused to be with those who prostrated. (Allah) said, ‘O Iblis, what is the matter with you that you are not with those who prostrate?’ He said, ‘Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out from dry soil of altered black mud.’ (Allah) said, ‘Then get out from it (i.e., Your position in the heavens.), for indeed, you are expelled. And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense.'” [Surah Al-Hijr, verses 28 – 35]
Allah Ta’ala has made this incident more clear and said:
“So the angels prostrated all together, except Iblis, he acted arrogantly and became among the disbelievers. (Allah) said, ‘O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My hands? did you act arrogantly, or were you (already) among the haughty?’ He said, ‘I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay.’ (Allah) said, Then get out of it (i.e., Paradise), for indeed, you are expelled. And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense.” [Surah Sad, verses 73 – 78]
“He (Iblis) said, ‘My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected.’ (Allah) said, ‘So indeed, you are of those reprieved. Until the Day of the appointed time.’ [Iblis] said, ‘By Your might, I will surely mislead them all. Except, among them, Your chosen servants.’ (Allah) said, “The truth (is My oath), and the truth I say – (That) I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together.” [Surah Sad, verses 79 – 85]
Iblis deceived them (i.e., Adam A. and his wife)
Allah Ta’ala said: “Then Satan tempted them so that he could expose what was hidden from them of their private parts. He said, ‘Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal.’ And he swore (by Allah) to them, ‘Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors.’ So he made them fall through deception. And when they tasted the tree, their private parts became exposed to them, and they began to cover together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, ‘Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?’ They said, ‘Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.'” [Surah Al-A’raf, verses 20 – 23]
Then Allah Ta’ala forgave them
“Then Adam received from his Lord (some) words, and He (Allah) accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 37]
Allah Ta’ala said: “And I had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot, and I found not in him determination.” [Surah Taha, verse 115]
“Then his Lord chose him and accepted his repentance and guided (him).” [Surah Taha, verse 122]
Allah Ta’ala also said: “Whoever follows My guidance – there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 38]
Satan’s promise
“Allah has cursed him. For he (i.e., Satan) had said, ‘I will surely take from among Your servants a specific portion. And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them (sinful) desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah.’ And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss. He (Satan) promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion.” [Surah An-Nisa, verses 118 – 120]
Warning from Allah
“O humankind, eat from whatever is on earth (that is) lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 168]
“Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and prayer. So will you not desist?” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse 91]
“O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he and his tribe see you, from where you do not see them. Indeed, I have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.” [Surah Al-A’raf, verse 27]
“O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan – indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing.” [Surah An-Nur, verse 21]
“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his followers to become inhabitants of the Blaze.” [Surah Fatir, verse 6]
“Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you do not worship Satan – (for) indeed, he is to you a clear enemy – And that you worship (only) Me? It is a straight path. And he (Satan) had already led astray from among you much of creation, So do you not have any sense?” [Surah Ya-Sin, verses 60 – 62]
Finally, Satan will say his followers
And Satan will say when the judgment has been concluded, “Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So don’t blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot save you, nor can you save me. Indeed, I deny your association of me before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment.” [Surah Ibrahim, verse 22]
May Allah Ta’ala forgive us our sins, grant us the Tawfiq to follow His all words, and die us while He is satisfied with us. Ameen.
